Probation agents believe a man was growing marijuana plants inside a closet of his Golden Meadow Home, the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office said.

Steve Cheramie Jr., 44, 20864 La. 1, was arrested after Lafourche Drug Task Force agents and Probation and Parole agents checked his home Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office said. They searched his home and found seven pots filled with soil, along with items to control lighting and climate. They also found three marijuana leaves, three bottles filled with suspected marijuana seeds or leaves and drug paraphernalia.

Cheramie is charged with marijuana cultivation and possession. He is in the Lafourche Parish jail on a $50,250 bond, deputies said.
